Joyful couple celebrates their 10th anniversary with a photo online, only to be inundated with concerned calls
It was Thomas and Sienna’s night alone. As they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary, they took the opportunity to reminisce about all the priceless moments they had together and wished for many more.
They prepared to take the usual photo to hang on the mantelpiece, but as the camera’s timer ran out, Sienna believed she heard a soft sound behind her from down the hall. Thomas assured her it was nothing and they smiled for another picture celebrating a year of friendship.
Sienna didn’t realize that the picture she shared on social media would have unimaginable consequences, so she uploaded it.
The next morning she was awakened by a tinkling sound. Notification after notification appeared and she reached for her phone. Most of the notes were wishes for their anniversary, but some people kept asking whose face was in the background of the picture.
Upon closer inspection, Sienna saw that the photo they had taken the night before was a face. Thomas was sure it was just a shadow that looked like a face when she told him about it.
But Sienna was far from satisfied. She asked Thomas to check the house to be sure because she remembered hearing the sound at the exact moment the picture was taken.
That’s what Thomas did, but no one was around.
“Calm down, love. It’s me,” he said with a light laugh.
“Ignore that picture. Remember we have a lunch reservation?”
Sienna saw the same worried face in the car window as she and the other person headed to the vehicle and were about to open the door, but she was too scared to say anything. She then screamed and turned around only to find herself alone in the back.
That night she heard a strange sound that scared her. It was now clear that there was a person inside the residence. She woke Thomas and he verified that sounds were coming from downstairs.
He reached for the revolver with one hand and the phone with the other.
“We can’t call 911 for a ghost!” Although Sienna protested, he contacted 911.
They saw a malnourished cub that began to cry as they moved very slowly into the kitchen. He was scared and hungry because his face was covered in snot.
But how did he get into their house?
“Hey, everything’s fine. We promise we won’t hurt you,” Thomas commented quietly.
“You’re hungry, aren’t you?” Sienna asked with a soft smile.
“Yes, hungry,” the boy said, nodding.
“What’s your name?”
“Nikolai.”
He spoke slowly and told how he and his mother came from a difficult background and how they asked his mother for help.
